Okay,
Now that sis is gone,
I dont mean to bash chubbies, my dad has a 85 chuby van that still runs great,
but there was a newer C1500 there that couldnt get out of the 16's. My friend
with the 95 Dak sport that runs 14.3's wasnt there, but there was a 2wd Dak
(3rd gen) stock except for exhaust that was running high 15's like me. I
talked to him and he might be talking with us soon.
Anyways, I wanted to let ya'll (you guys/gals) know how my friends ran.
The Road Runner, my favorite, ran a best time of 13.035 in the 1/4. No ice,
no filter. That was with his headers uncapped too, the other two runs he made
were 14.3 and 13.8. Damn that thing sounded sweet. Everyone's eyes were on
it. Its so damn heavy though, 13 is good for him. He is as heavy as I am,
with that 383. Cubes!
The Pontiac, which wasnt even running last week, ran best in the high 14's,
again no ice no filter. The last run he made was a 15.3. That was it's
"breaking in" on the way up the piston rings finally sealed. :0)
The Javelin, this thing was more consistent than I was. He ran 13.2, 13.4,
and 13.5 on the last run. He used ice and no filter.
I love this racing! I am just afraid that if I keep doing it, I'll screw up
my engine, not to mention the transfer case. I also have this damn knock at
start-up (dead cold). I really am concerned, but...its so f@#kin fun! $0.02
appreciated!
