Bingo. Those patents are ending this year allowing other companies to make
rotary engines without paying royalties. Most of the patents are actually
own by Mazda who did a lot of work improving the engine over Wankel. I have
an RX-7 and love it. The Dak is the winter and lousy weather vehicle. If you
ever wondered what an F-16 sounds like at take off ride in an RX-7 spinning
at 9000 RPM's.
