Don't offend the Montana DML'ers - someone might get upset and
reprimand you.

Personally, I'd love to see them haul out the bomb squad and
detonate the
package. In doing so they destroy their evidence of a radar dector
existing
so they can't ticket you any more and at least you get to see the
nifty
explosion so it's some entertainment there. All you are out then is
your
radar detector and the taxpayers are out a ton of money for all the
time and
effort.
The problem with all of this stuff is that doing illegal things
gets you
into trouble with the law, it's kind of a cause and effect thing. If
you
proceed to do illegal things, then by default you must be willing to
accept
the consequences of your actions. This society is full of people who
don't
want to follow the rules and then try to get out of the punishments:
it's the
whole reason for the existance of lawyers. I have no pity available
for those
that break the law then whine about it. If you don't like a states
laws: move
out of that state. Montana is pretty lienent, just ask any local
"Freeman" or
the Unibomber. You can drive around without a radar detector cause
the cops
don't care how fast you go.
Do I speed? Sure, but I haven't gotten a ticket yet because I
don't speed
like a madman. Been driving for years and years, still no moving
violations
and I live in ticket happy California where our CHP officers have
"STATE
TRAFFIC OFFICER" right on their badge: kinda let's you know what their
main
job is.
So plug in that radar detector and fly around the roads. When you
get
caught, just say "Ce'st la Vie" and get on with life. No need to try
and out
think the cops: it's their jobs to out think the criminals.

>This situation probably won't now-adays in that the Post Office now
has
very strigent sending policies on how to send bulky items, especially
items
that bulge in packages. The detectors would look too much like bombs
in the
way their shaped. The law officers would look at that package and call
out
the BOMB SQUAD and detonate the package right where you sit--hopefully
not
in your truck. You still trying to get out away from a ticket, you
would
then say "Really Officer, It's not a bomb-I'll show you, and take it
out of
the package. The Officer will see what it is(knowing, thats what he
stopped
you for) and then write you up for,not only having a detector but
also
trying to evade the police, and call up the postal Inspectors for
sending
ILLEGAL Contraband through the mail in that STATE. So you see that
there are
many senerios that the COPS could use just for having a detector in
that
State. How do I know---I've been carrying the U.S. Mail for over 20
years---
