I had 800lbs in the bed from La Missione Mexico to San Jose CA (1000+ miles)
and averaged 18mpg doing 70-80mph all the way. 96 CC 318. Flyin low.

What is the largest load that you have ever hauled in your Dakota?
I believe that the formal maximum payload of my 93 regular cab is 1,450 lbs.
Last week I took .88 ton, 1,760 lbs., of crushed stone a distance of several
miles. Even looking at the load in the back of my truck I suspected that it
was probably more than a Tacoma could take, but I was amazed at the weight
on the slip.
