Bad crankcase gasket & battery

Just got my Dak back from the dealer. It went in because of an oil leak and starting troubles. The was the second time for the oil leak, the first time they said they could not find the oil leak, that it must have been condensation. Come on, I know the difference between oil and water.

Verdict this time. Bad crankcase gasket causing the oil leak, repaired under warranty. Starting difficulties were due to a failing battery. Battery was replaced free of charge as well. Glad to have these show up now, less than 3,000 miles left on my warranty.

Any else have these problems? Or heard that "batteries seem to go dead faster in the desert southwest"? Just curious.
