They also get a check from Chrysler for 3% of the sale price. Basically the
dealer invoice is no idication of the true dealer cost. Many dealers belong
to a "Group" which owns many dealerships so they can get bigger discounts or
incentives from Crysler. I negotiated my 1999 Dakota CC SLT to $23,390.
The original MSRP was $25490, then in the Denver area they have a Reigional
markup of $5000.(what a joke!!!) My SLT is loaded...power everything, tow
package, Infinity CD/CASS/AM-FM 8 speaker, remote keyless, overhead consol,
and they even threw in a bed liner.

carpoint.msn.com is neat and easy to use but their msrp,
much less invoice, is inaccurate. Trust me. I just got my
99' 4x4 SLT Club Cab v8, auto, 4FT. And when I compared
the sticker with carpoint, I was very disappointed. I was trying
to negotiate based on the info from carpoint. Since I special
ordered mine, it was to late by the time I saw the actual sticker.
