interesting you ask as i am very interested in them... my contacts/research
all seem to think the 4.7L WILL replace the 5.2 in all dodge and GC
products now using the 5.2
there is an indication that dodge will not phase out the 5.9 as it is the
core of the 300/380 hp program
the 3.9 is still up in the air...
the 8.0 is going to a smaller 6.something V10
the 4.7L uses an OH cam, plastic intake, J-snout design with the tbi a
single hole facing forward... tbi is alum
currently they are having trans problems now (again) sounds great for
racing huh???!??
this will be a gradual phase-in program...
i think the 4.7L will offer an excitment of performance possibilities...
until you put in a big cam... and the timing belt breaks... and "viola" all
the valves hang open... and get real neighborly with the pistons...
you'll be able to port the intake with your soldering gun...:) port match
it with the hair dryer...
and so on
