I can't speak for DAK's specifically, but I've got the 5.9L, 3.92 gears, and
probably 1500 pounds on top of that... (1998 1500 Ram 4x4 Quadcab 5.9L
Sport).. I get about 15 mpg combined, but when the truck was brand new... I
think I got 11mpg on the first tank... the 5.9L seems to take a little more
to break in (I've had a '96 1500 4x2 w/ the 5.2L before).
I would think that a 2wd, lighter truck like the R/T would do better (as
long as you keep your foot out of it)
