The OEM 8" rims for the '97 have backspacing of 5.5". If
you can get to a dealer, look for a Dak with 235/70 tires as
they are usually on these 8" rims. You'll see that they stick
out a bit (probably 3/8").
The fact that Gary's rims have a backspacing of 5.875"
accounts for why his rims are dead on with the fender lip.
