Your title or wherever you're getting that info from is wrong. My guess is
about 4300#. Take it to a track, quarry, cotton gin or truck stop and
weigh it. You might check and see if your vehicle registration will be any
cheaper. Don't know if it will be - just some wishful thinkin for ya ; )

        My 92 Dak 4x4 318 has a curb weight of 5300 lbs. The durango has to
have a
        curb weight greater than that. I looked at a 92 Ram 4x2 239 (not
2x4..hehe)
        and it actually weighed 100 lbs lighter than mine. My truck may be
relatively
        slow, but it is no dog. And get this...in MD, they consider it a
3/4 ton!
        Yup on my title, it is rated in the 7000 lb class. I questioned
this and they
        said that if it is between the 5000 to 7000 gvw, then it is
considered a 3/4
        ton. Wierd. And If my insurance goes up because of it then watch
out
        Maryland!
