Eric,

I don't think you are reaching all that much. The VP of competition is
reviewing a NASCAR entry for what was Chrysler for the year 2000
schedule, maybe sooner, according to reports in the Charlotte Observer.
Also, it is very interesting to look at the wording used in published
rules for track testing in 1999. The amount of testing allowed is
specified for "... all GM and Ford vehicles..." Since these are the only
vehicles currently running in NASCAR, it would be pointless to single
them out *unless* there is going to be another manufacturer's vehicle in
testing in 1999. A vehicle which hasn't raced at any of the tracks in 20
odd years should be allowed additional track test time. Here's hoping!
