Cuervo, I have towed many trailers and I can tell you from experience
that messing up license plates is caused by careless backing while
hooking up. It's tough to judge distance with no one to help. Solution:
Mount the trailer to the ball first, while it's empty and then back it
in. Be careful while backing if the trailer is short, the turns are
exagerated and can "jacknife" easily. Towing, the tounge of the trailer
should not touch anything, unless there are EXTREME dips in the road or
it "jacknifes" while backing. Alan S.

Actually I wasn't all that worried about the weight, but what the trailer
would do to the bumper on the '97 slt. it doesn't look all that wide from
where the ball would mount. the trailer is one of those little
build-it-yourself types and the new house is only 5 miles from the apartment
where I live now. I guess I have seen 1 too many banged up license plates
and didn't really want that to happen to mine.

trailer
|weight, 200Lbs tounge weight. (I know it's this on the Ram...) I've towed
|5000Lbs + on the Ram bumper- it looks like a hitch underneath... I don't
