I agree with mike, Unless you're hauling the entire bands instruments,
then you won't need it. I know Timpani's are heavy(don't I know it =)....)
but you'll be alright without it. I used my dak to haul the PA I use for my
SOund gigs and it does fine. I wouldn't advise against getting one for
peice of mind though.... I know that always helps me =)

Unless your putting extremely heavy band equipment in it then you
shouldn't
need one. I have the same size trailer and truck, and I carry DJ
equipment
in mine. I only load it with around 1500-2000 pounds of equipment. It
has not much of an effect on my transmission. I don't drive on many hilly
roads though and I don't go far. So unless you live in the mountains and
your hauling 4000-5000 pounds of equipment and using it a lot then I
wouldn't bother getting one...

OK, guys help. I'm in the process of having a class III hitch installed on
my 97 4x4 dak with a V6. For peace of mind I think that I should install a
transmission oil cooler but when I was at pep boys yesterday they had
many
different types. Any suggestions as to what I should get, and if I should
get one at all. By the way I will be towing a 5x8 box trailer and around
2,000 pounds of band equipment. Thanks for any help....Matt
