Joel, just thought you'd like to know that GARA makes 2 different 16x7.5
6-lug wheels to fit the newer Dakotas/Durangos. One is a very smooth looking
6-spoker (which is what I got), and the other is a "pinwheel" type design. I
managed to squeeze 275-70-16 Yokohama tires on my '97 4x4 Dakota. These are
almost 1" wider, and a little taller, than the 31x10.5x15s. The fronts do
rub every so often, but only at full-lock, and nothing is being damaged.
I'd go to a 265-70-16 if I were to do it again.
31x10.5x15 tire = 30.5" diameter x 10.5" wide at sidewall, 8.0" tread width
275-70-16 tire = 31.2" diameter x 10.8" wide at sidewall, 8.7" tread width
265-70-16 tire = 30.7" diameter x 10.4" wide at sidewall, 8.4" tread width
