Hey Mike,
I put the Doug Thorley's (same as Mopar's Dakota Headers) on my '95 and was
very impressed. Traction is now a problem where it wasn't prior to installing
the DT's. The truck revs ALOT faster and pulls harder in every gear. I don't
know if the 97's and later Daks are like this, but my stock Y-pipe was not
only small, but had a bad crimp on the driver's side also. It is my impression
that the factory y-pipe is what kills alot of horsepower and torque on these
trucks. Whatever system you decide to go with, I would definitley choose one
that replaces the y-pipe. A friend of mine has a 98 truck like yours (except
it's white) that he put Gibson headers on. He said that he really couldn't
tell much of a diffirence with them. No y-pipe included.

Jeff
