I dunno, an electric fan sounds like a pretty good investment,
performance wise. 2-3 tenths for 80-100 dollars sound like a pretty good
deal to me! (compared to $250-300 for a cat-back, 300-400 for gears (incl.
inst.), $250 for an intake)
I've got a pricey fiberglass hood, so I'm not willing to risk having
a flexible fan self-destruct under there. (Speaking of the warranty,
a dealer would be well within their rights to deny warranty service
due to an aftermarket flex fan going through the hood.)
