Hey, you don't even have to install a fan to test whether it'll gain you
any power. Simply take the fan and shroud off and drive it up the street
without anything. Now I'm not saying to go to the store like that or sit
in traffic or something like that, just a short blast up the street and
back. This won't allow it to get too hot and you'll see what it does for
you. I have personally witnessed another dml'er race the 1/4 mile
without ANY fan and it hasn't hurt a thing. Alan S.

Definitely a good alternative to the electric fan idea.
Don't get me wrong...electric fans are a good replacement for stock fan
setups (especially on older vehicles without fan-clutches) but the amount of
money spent could be used towards something that increases the performance
more and a few tenths of a second. (Exhaust, Intake, gears, etc.)
If you plan on bracket racing your truck...by all means...put it on. If
you're using it as a daily driver...and like your warranty's...don't do it.
I'll try this out on my 1997 V6 Dak and see what happens....
