Um, be very careful when challenging Jeeps to 4x4 feats of strength.
There's a reason they are all skinny, it lets them fit places we could only
dream of fitting our Dak's. I've heard that the "non-jeepers" really suffer
on those Jeep Safari's as the Jeep's have to keep pulling them out of areas
they get stuck in. Apparently, sometimes, the "non-jeepers" are invited just
so the Jeep folks can get a good chuckle every now and then.
I understand the rule of thumb is that if you are going to be using "Jeep"
trails to avoid them unless you have a Jeep. If they are planning on using
generic 4x4 trails you're okay. This comes from reading a couple of articles
and a friend who used to 4x4 a lot. Those little mountain goats are kinda
hard to keep up with offroad.

Okay, it's called the Easter Jeep Safari. I mentioned it because my dad's
gone a couple of times, and I thought it would make a good excuse to make it
out there in the spring. Since we wouldn't be able to get our Dakotas there
for the weekend, I was just thinking of either borrowing my dad's CJ5 or
renting one there.

That's about all I knew this morning, but I did a little looking around and
came across a couple of sites about the 1998 Safari at
http://www.4x4now.com/32js.htm and
http://www.off-road.com/4x4web/travels/trails/usa/utah/1998/safari.html.
Looks like the so-called "Jeep Safari" isn't just for Jeeps. Shall we show
those Jeep elitists a thing or two about Dakota off-roading?
