Ahhhh, it is good to have the life of in house software. No more
embedded control systems, no worrying about heavy equipment falling on
people, RADAR screens going blank on the busy new year holiday..... Our
company mandated a Y2K fix deadline for the end of '98..... My prayers
are with all the engineers whom build for the masses........ I think I
will take the stairs for that week, and maybe cancel those air line
reservations, hahahahaha...

        Vladimir,
It really is a serious problem and I am worried about it. The
company I work
for has contracted out the software testing and contracted cost
is 8 million
dollars for verification of the software we have source code
for. This
problem will even effect things like elevators and environmental
controls in
buildings. When our networks and software comes crashing down, I
am the one
that MUST get it back up. I can see many many sleepless nights
to get
        through this one....
