You had some good questions and I would like to see your pics and write up.
It would be cool to add your imput to my page to make it more complete for
the next guy. Glad to hear you did it yourself. Just think, you saved money,
have more tools and experience. Cool man!

Joel

Subject: DML: Installed the Tow Hooks Today

First off, thanks to all that set me straight on the MOPAR tow hooks! The
word on this assembly is SUBSTANTIAL and STRONG! The assembly mounts
directly to the frame and cross member and each hook is rated at 5,500lbs!

Special thanks to Joel Znamenacek for answering my dopey questions and for
the pix/suggestions on his web page... Thanks Joel!

It's hard to say how long this took as I kept running in and out of the
house to catch some of the ball games today --but I'd guess you could
install it in a couple of hours or less if you didn't have to wait for half
time and commercial breaks :-)

Just a couple of comments... The kit came with the wrong size nuts and
some of the washers were the wrong size too. I know, I know, Dodge...
We're full of surprises :-) hehehe. Hopefully they'll get this squared
away for future kit buyers. It was a real pain in the butt locating
replacement nuts too (they're metric).

As Joel pointed out you need a REALLY BIG HAMMER, BIG PUNCH and some shims
to bang out the six torx head bolts on the inner bumper brackets. I used a
short one-hand sledge hammer and I was about to get the big one when they
broke loose... By far this was the most aggravating and time consuming
part of the install. You'll also need a big honker of a hex head driver
and a smaller one to mount the hooks on the assembly. An 18mm deep socket
also comes in handy.

I took some pictures and was thinking about doing an install write up if
anyone was interested... I guess that question is really for Jon as it
would have to reside on his web page. Any interest for this? Joel, you
want to help put this together for the DML if there is any interest?

T.
