OKAY to chris:
i'm not trying to put ya down or anything, but YES havin an amp WILL improve
sound quality. kinda switching to analogy mode ( so you're tellin me that
having a 454 vs a 1.0 liter ford aspire, there is NO difference. that the
aspire can keep up with the 454 in races?) since the amp is strong, bigger,
it doesn't have to sacrifice Sound quailty for a lil itty bitty space
restriction. also, most amps have CROSSOVERS so you can set a high pass so
you speakers won't have to hit bass notes lower than what it can really
achieve... so get the amp.

Ok let me clarify myself......having a good quality amp is important to get
a smooth signal into the speakers but what i meant was you can have the most
expensive amp in the world and the crummiest speakers and you wont get good
sound out of it.
