DML Members,

Before you get too uppity about a caravan R/T, which by the way is
powered by the 254hp 3.5, has the 4 spd auto stick, beefy suspension and 18"
wheels, Who ever heard of a racing truck? R/T did stand for Road/Track in
the past, and after seeing some of the new offerings carrying that label, it
is absolutly appropriate. Most of these vehicles are "off the shelf" road
racers. Lot's of hp and the suspension mods to make em stick in the corners.
Also saw the 4 door Dakota. Its a Durango with a pick up bed behind the
second seat. Real forward hinged doors (crew cab). The box is 5 1/2 feet
down from 6 1/2. It would definatly make my day to own one.
Went to the International Auto Show in San Jose California specifically
to check out and compare the "ALL NEW" Generic Motors truck to the Ram. I
was even less impressed than I was after reading the magazine articles. I
sat in the cab and reached over towards the pasenger door. With my arm fully
extended I was within 2" of touching the door. Did the same in the Ram wtih
a 3-4" gap between finger tip and door. Supposedly the GM cab is the
"largest cab of any full size pickup". It sure isn't wider..... Oh yeah the
club cab is a three door. If they went to all that expense to produce the
"ALL NEW" truck why not a four door to compete with Ram??? Another GM
boondoggle. Feed the American public anything with a GM label and they'll
believe anything you say about it.
Also looked closely at the 4.7V8 in the Jeep GC. I think we have a
winner. All aluminum, including the valve covers, SOHC, .....
And, as a parting shot. Chrysler isn't the only one pulling the wool
over your eyes on the speakers. GM/Bose 10 way stereo system?? only 5
speaker grills. Where's the other 5 speakers???? Dorf's 8 way stereo system
with 4 speaker grills???
Oh well if that's the on thing you have to gripe about in your Dakota
then yah hoo!! Your engines not dead, your tranny hasn't fallen out, and
there arn't 400 of the same truck within a 1 mile radius (GM's). Our trucks
are tough, dependable, and fast. BE HAPPY!!

Just MHO.
