Hi, All. I'm the (extremely) proud new owner of a 1993 Dodge Dakota 2x4,
42K miles, 318 Magnum, 518 tranny, 3.54 rear axle ratio. It's my first
"real" truck (I had cars all my life and then a GMC Sonoma for 6 months
before I just had to get something that could WORK... please don't shoot me,
I didn't know any better). And I have to say I'll probably never buy
anything but a Dodge and the Dakota is my #1 choice. As I learn more and
more about the Dodge engineering and the Dakota in particular, other
manufacturers' products pale drastically in comparison. I'm really glad my
friend talked me into buying a Dakota.
So, here I am with this truck and I need some help. The owner's manual is
missing from the truck and I want to know what my towing capacity is. I
don't see a sticker in the door frame and it isn't on the factory sticker
under the hood. Does somebody have the tow rating?
Also, I'd like to raise the truck 2". When I bought it, it had brand new P
tires on it (some really cheap brand, of course). Ugh! So, I promptly
replaced those with a nice set of 30/950/15 BF Goodrich Radial All-Terrain
T/A. It looks better... and handles like a completely different truck. I
still want to pick it up a bit. I'd like to know if anyone has experience
with doing this and whether there are any serious mods necessary to the
brake lines, etc.
I'd appreciate the help!
