Gordon, that's not such a stupid question. It's a transmitter placed in
an undisclosed location by a Lojack dealer, they won't even tell you
where they put it. If your vehicle is stolen, when you call the police,
they punch your v.i.n.# into the computer. Lojacks computers moniter
these data bases and, when the vin is entered and detected by Lojacks
computer, it sends a signal to your tracking device to start it's
transmitter. It starts to broadcast a signal and will be recieved by the
closest Lojack reciever. Lojack GIVES away these recievers and installs
them for free to any department that wants one. One of our local P.D.'s
have one in a helicopter. Talk about fast triangulation of a signal!
There are many case histories of recoveries with minimal stripping
damage/fast recovery being the primary objective. Recievers are in
P.D.'s all over the world. Just about every country that uses autos.
Last they have a money back guarantee, if your car is stolen and isn't
found by the Lojack, you get your 600.00 back. Pretty sweet, I
think. Alan
