Edelbrock Headers on an R/T?

A buddy of mine just bought a 1999 R/T, and he wants to install Edelbrock
Headers. He can get them locally for about $400 (Coated). I've heard that
they're somewhere between shorties and long tube design, but I'm not
familiar with them. Has anyone out there installed these on an R/T? or a
5.2L? Good/Bad? Is there a difference as far as the install is concerned?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
