I see your question as a choice between better handling
or distinctive appearance.

Lowering, if done right, will give you much improved handling
and cornering.

The shaker hood will look great and generate a lot of comments.
All the scooped factory hoods (grabber, shaker, etc.) of the muscle
car days were more show than go ... all of the muscle car mags
in the late 60's and early 70's acknowledged this.
