RE: Lease or Buy an R/T??

I'm not sure how the leasing system works in the US, but I purchased my
first dak, and leased both the 2nd and 3rd. The first one was a true lemon
and spent most of it's life in the shop. I regretted buying it about one
month after I got it.

Leasing in Canada with Chrysler allows you 3 choices. 1. After 3 years you
can simply turn it in and walk away. 2. You can trade it in on another
lease or purchase and use any equity you have built to put against the next
lease or purchase. 3. You can buy it for the agreed value on the original
lease.

Had my '95 not been wrecked, I could have purchased it for $9000 Canadian.
However, I had kept it in such good condition and low mileage, Insurance
paid $15,500 Canadian for it. Had I been able to trade it in on the next
lease, I would have had $6,500 in equity on a 3 year old truck.

At least this way, I have 3 years to make up my mind whether or not to keep
the truck. I have also found that I can't do any mods, but I kind of like
getting a new truck every few years. I'm never driving one that's not under
warranty and I get the new goodies all the time.

I guess you have to make up your mind which way suits your needs and go from
there.

Good Luck,
Norah
