The first time I tried the MP computer I had the MSD and Retard hooked up but
the retard box was faulty and did not work. About 3/4 down the track it
started detonating, I could see my hood catapulting accross the fields and
little pieces scaterred all over the place but I lucked out but I DO NOT want
to have that happen again, ever, real spooky. At that time I was running Mobil
93. I talked back with NOS and they told me if I couldn't take the timing back
out then do not run the MP computer. They also told me too take more than
necessary out and then put some back. When I asked about higher jets they told
me make a run coast to a stop and check the plugs and if not lean the go step
higher and try again and they also told me to keep taking out timing until the
speed started to drop and set it just above where the speed drop occurred ???
I have tried 104 Unleaded (I got from speed shop) I didn't see any difference,
the main reason I tried it was for a cushion in case the retard was still not
right. All seems OK now but after seeing Tom's numbers I can see I have a lot
of room to improve and I'll work on that slowly as time and money allows. I
now run Sunoco 94 without problems.
