Following this thread along with my very limited experience....my CC 4X4 is
about six weeks old. Have heard many complaints about gear position indicator
not following shifter, I know that my shifter does not "snap" into
position..after I move from reverse to drive I have to wiggle the shifter to
make sure it is locked in. Also notice that the shifts are very, very soft.
Even when I am standing on it the shift is very soft and smooth, not even the
slightest jerk. This is nice for the "Lexus Lane Set" but soft
shifts=slippage. I am wondering if a shift kit would eliminate most of the
slippage and prolong the life of our trannies. How about it, has anyone with a
shift kit installed had the slipping problem afterward? I may have to move the
shift kit up to the top in my list of upcoming mods. Is there anything to do
to tighten up the linkage so that the shifter "snaps" inot position?
