Well , it depends .
With most services , they actually are the ISP and offer the e-mail ,
Newsgroups , web space , etc.
Now if you want to gain access to AOL specific services , like *their*
chat servers , or *their* newsgroups , then yes , you would also have to
have AOL .
Personally , I can't stand AOL , I mean , how many times can they ask you
if you want the AOL Visa ?
AOL likes to think of themselves as the capital of the Internet , when in
actuallity they are the pre-teen brothel at the center of town .
