You need to have the AM/FM/Tape that has the CD changer controller feature
built into it. I believe there is a cable you will have to acquire for the
guy who is giving you the changer or from the dealer.

Subject: DML: Swapping out Radios

A friend of my dad has a 1998 Ram which came equiped with a CD changer
under the
front seat. He told my dad that he has no use for the CD changer, and
was to ask me
if I would be interested in it. I have a 1999 Dakota CC with the
standard radio, and
would like to know how much work would be involved in swapping out his
radio with
mine and installing the CD changer under the passenger seat. Would it
be as easy as
swapping radios and running a couple of wires to the CD changer, or is
it more hassle
than it is worth.
Any tips or comments would be helpful.
