Anyone see the March 99 issue of Hot Rod yet. Little news article in
about Magnum parts. Here it is word for word:
Good news for Mopar enthusiasts in California: The California Air
Resources Board(carb)has granted Mopar Performances Magnum V-8 pieces an
exemption from Cali's super strict airquality standards. Everything from
headers, intakes and exhausts to computer reprogramming has been affected
under the blanket exemption. Even newer Chrysler Corporation vehicles,
such as v-8-powered Dakotas and v-10-powered Rams, can use these
components without fear of Big Brother raising an eyebrow. Does this
mean that we will start seeing legal aftermarket conversions of 8.0L
V-10s in Dakotas and Rams.. or better still, Prowlers?
Not sure if this is relevant to the holdup of the performance computer
for 97-99 Dakotas. Just thought you might be interested.
Later
