Yep, it does have a factory installed blower. (Its an Eaton.) I don't
know what the specs and such are on the blower, and I don't know what
else is different from a vanilla F-150 (well, I know the exhaust is
different, but I don't know what else). I can definitely say that if I
put a blower on my Dak, I would eat him alive, but I've also got some
other mods. I ran 16.0 stock, so if you figure on getting a second out
of a blower, that would only drop me down to 15; he'd still be a second
faster. I've got a club cab, so I'm heavier than a RC Dak, but the F-150
is a full size truck...
Its a lot of money though... If I wanted to start from scratch to get
a brand new sport truck, I'd probably go with a RC Dakota sport with the
3.91 rearend with a 5.2L V8 ($15-18K?), then yank the 318 and have Kammer
& Kammer build a new 360. ($4-5K?) For $19-23K, you could be running
12's on the motor (At least a full second faster than the Lightning)
and for about $10,000 less. Spend an extra $1K for the little blue
bottle and you're running a full 2 seconds faster than the Lightning. :-)
Or, if you consider that cheating, spend $5K on a blower. You're still
about $5K cheaper than the Lightning.) You could even sell the stock
318 to recoup some of the costs, if you wanted to. ($2K?)
