I spent about 10 hours on the installation today. Just finished filling up with fluid at 9pm. It was dark so I didn't want to start it up to check for any leaks so I'll report on results tomorrow.
Since some of you had good experiences and others, total transmission failures. I want to ask those who installed the kit some questions.
Did you perform the steps for "shift command"? This will allow you to shift into 1st from ANY speed. I didn't since I didn't want myself or some else to accidentally shift into 1st at 50mph and blow up the engine. I can still put it in 1st gear by moving the lever to "1" right?
I found that I didn't have to enlarge any holes in the separator plate except one. I left the 1-2 firmness alone since I was able to fit the smallest drill bit (.093) through that hole. Same with the hole for 2-3 firmness.
I used the BLUE spring for the PR valve and replaced ALL the check balls. Since I didn't modify/install the servo parts I skip the steps to achieve "competition" firmness.
One thing that baffles me is that a small check ball fell out when I disassembled the valve body. It about half the size of the 1/4 inch check balls. Neither the video nor the booklet made any reference to it. I DON'T KNOW WHERE IT CAME FROM! Does someone know where this came from? I left it out for now but I'll replace it if it's going to screw up the trans.
