paint chip fix

OK, I've got a few questions for anyone who is in the
know about fixing paint chips.

I've cleaned out the chips, wetsanded them down smooth
to bare metal, and primed them. I've laid down about
4 coats of spray (had to get Dupli-color brand, looks
like a perfect match). I'm going to resand to get
things perfectly smooth w/ the surroundings and
repaint again. Then on to the clearcoating.

Can anyone give some tips/hints/suggestions on doing
this? A butt-load of work for such a small chip!!!

And in the words of Mr. T... " I pity tha foo who
scratches my truck" :)
