The local Toyota dealership which sponsored a 4WD event (Mud-N-Yer Eye in
Hollister CA) had a new Tundra there and I was not all that impressed to the
tune of $29,000!!! It's 4.7L is rated at 245hp and about the same torque
rating as our V8 Dakotas. I have not seen any performance numbers, but I
can't imagine 15 hp would make that much of a difference, especially since I
believe the Tundra is slightly bigger. It's a nice truck, but I'll take my
98 V8 4X4 and it's "meager" 230hp, stuff the $6,500.00 difference in price
in my pocket and climb right around him on the trail.
