According to the issue 7/Spring 1999 Power Wagon & Sport Utes mag., an
overlooked fact when D-C announced the 2000 model Dakota Quad Cab was
that the 5.2 L was to be discontinued for the 2000 model year in the
Dodge truck. If this is true, then the only available V8 engines are
the 4.7L and 5.9L . The same mag. has speculates that the 5.9 L
will go in the 2001 model year, replaced by a larger 5.7 L Power Tech V8.
