Re: towing with my R/T and got 'check engine' light

The light came on at around 4000ft. I would have heard any pinging because I
can easily hear it everytime. I had 92 octane in the tank. We had about 3
gallons of unleaded race gas left from our day so i dumped it into the R/T
to make it back home without stopping.

I left the battery disconected for a few hours. Left the hood up so the
light should drain any residual current.

I didn't drive it until this morning. The "CE" light is off. However, on the
way to work I notice the engine is missing a bit at idle. Enough to make the
rpm jump around a bit. Maybe it's the computer still 'learning'. I'll check
the ignition parts if it persists. Thanks.

What is the elevation of the place where the light came on ?

I would make a best guess of saying it got a little lean maybe ?

Unhook the battery and leave it off for at least ten minutes or so and then
make sure you turn the key to bleed and possible residual power stored
anywhere .

Hook it back upo and see if the light is still on , if it is , try driving
the truck another 50-100 miles and see if it goes away after a good "cycle"
.
