Although this is true I too have this "Clunk" when shifting it reverse and
also when the transmission shift when there is minimal load on the rear. I
took my truck (1997 CC 4x4, 3.92) to the dealer. The dealer checked out the
rear end and stated that this was normal and the slop was actually done by
design. They did open the rear end up to check the tolerances, all was in
spec. I believe that I will take it in again before the 36K mark for a
recheck.
