Dan,
You probably have to reset your computer if you have one. If not, see if
you can find a service manual or someone with one. More than likely, there
is something that needs the power removed momentarily. One of the vehicles
my father had was like this. It had a check light that was designed to trip
at a pre-determined mileage. Didn't matter if anything was wrong or not.
Just needed to be reset as well.

reminder,
not a fault indicator. I had replaced the EGR last year.
How do I turn the light off (besides pulling the bulb or covering it
over)???
