While I firmly believe you should have some fun and find some dirt roads you'll
need 4wd on, I don't think it's necessary from a maintenance perspective...
With our new/old design all of the internals are spinning all the time. The
only thing that happens when you shift into 4hi/low is you add power to the
front output shaft.

As far as rain goes, I get plenty of traction in 2wd with the stock 31x10.5
tires.

Now get out there and cruise some trails! :-)

Bob its actually good to engage the 4wd once a month or so. If you have a
gravel road or something like it to give a little slip, thats the best. You
just want to make sure everything works OK and it gets the oil dispersed
throughout the axles.
