Greg,

A 245/50 would only be 24.6" high. It would probably
look too small IMO. If you are wanting better
handling, I would either upgrade to 17" wheels and run
a 255/50 or if you want to keep your 15" wheels go
with a 255/60. Both sizes hold close to a 27" diameter
and would fill the wheelwell openings nicely. As a
comparison, a 245/50-15 would have around the same
sidewall height as a 255/45-18, but would be 2.5"
shorter in overall height.
