The specific one that is being referenced in this thread...no. (It's only 1
or 2psi)
The others, such as: Paxton, Vortec, Powerdyne, Kenn Bell, etc. will only
shorten the life of the engine if you don't treat them with a little bit of
respect. (And also not running 9-10+ psi boost on a stock engine...you need
a well built bottom end for that.) Superchargers (at least my experiences
with the centrifugal ones) actually make the engines run cleaner (on the
SMOG sniffer), more useable power, and better gas mileage.

Do Superchargers shorten the life of the engine?? or are there other
benefits (other than hp boost)that would prolong the life of the engine or
get better mileage?

all you guys are looking for performance and horsepower increases from air
filter systems...i happened on an interesting website its an inline electric
supercharger(fan)...it utilizes a k&n come filter and you can put it
anywhere
preferably near a cold air source...it gives you 1lb of boost and a
4-6%increase in rear wheel horsepower..and they gaurantee it..im sure you
all
could get a group buy and there is a pic of 1 installed on a dakota...heres
a
link...
