Brian,
Never heard of McGard lug nuts. Are they a special nut, made from a higher
grade material, or what? Maybe I should ask if they are a stock lug nut
replacement, or something used with non-factory wheels? Thanks.

Alberto,

I have a '99 Dak. My rotors starting getting warped around 9k miles and
eventually the dealership replaced the rotors under warranty at 13k
miles. At 17k miles, I started getting that brake shudder again (truck
hops up and down like a tire out of balance, but only at a certain
speed). Again, the dealer replaced the rotors again AND also the pads.
One of the pades was glazed over.

The dealer is really working with me on this problem. Hasn't cost me a
dime so far. If it starts again, they have a track record to go by and
will probably (in my opinion), start looking at a bad caliper next if
the rotors continue to warp so quickly.

I have recently put on McGard lug nuts and locks and hand-torqued to
around 92 lbs. Maybe this will help IF the calipers really aren't the
problem.

LOVE those McGards! Thanks to whoever suggested getting them (Bernd,
Bob?). Very nice! My stock lugs were literally "falling apart" (chrome
caps coming off!).
