Greg,
My '96 318 had the same factory configuration you are describing. I
unbolted it from the Holley TB and used the "s" bolt supplied by K&N. It
fit perfectly.

Wow, I go and install my FIPK, whata difference, the big hill leading up to
my house(street) can be taken at 65 instead of 55, that quite a bit of
difference. also the engine sounds far better, no hiss when accelerating,
now
jsut a bad ass burble, sounds great, really performance orented...
Just wondering to 93 Dakotas w/318 come with Holley throttle
bodies?,
also this "s" bolt in the kit is usless, my throttle bodie had a little
thing
that bolts on where the normal one would go, then has a space for a stud.
Is
this normal, the air cleaner was stock, but the mount wasn't? somthing that
you home grown intake people might want to investigate further... the bolt
is
right in the middle of the throttle bodie with this piece, just need a
longer
bolt (yes bolt, wiht that square shank to hold it in) is this is an easy,
and
cool (read cheap) way to do this?
