Greg:
Forget the removal tool for the fronts. Get a good pair of vice grips
(with good sharp teeth) and grab ahold of the shaft in between some of the
front coils. Yes, this is a bitch too, but it works. Then get a socket on
the nut on top, and start twisting. One of two things will happen, the nut
will come off, or the shaft will break, either way, you can get the shock out.
