I believe it has to do with the colder air in the throttle body, or maybe just
the colder metal, ??? I don't really know. But that's how mine is as well.
Summer time, hardly ever hear it. Winter, every morning, hisses like a snake.....
Now, another thing to consider, since it is mostly on cold starts (been setting
all night) is maybe the AIS has to open more to maintain idle, thus making more
of a hiss? This would explain why it goes away once the engine warms up to
normal.
Now that I think about it, that last paragraph makes a lot more sense than the
first one does... ;-)
Oh well, after a few months you don't notice it anyway....
