Alarms moniter voltage too and they'll go off when there is a sudden
drop, such as when the fans engage after shutdown. You may have to go
back to a "key on" voltage supply.
I like for my fans to run after shutdown too, but I don't have an alarm.
Also, as you know, there is no provision for cooldown after shutoff with
the stock setup, so it can't hurt anything.
