I have one of those cloth-like silver heatshields, but I just lay it on my
dash, not up against the window. After all, it's for protecting the dash, not
reflecting the heat. No marks on mine. P.S. I use Glass Wax(in the pink
square can) on inside and out, works like a charm, takes smoke film off, and
you don't get windex spray dots on your dash. If I do use windex, I lay the
heat shield on the dash to protect it.
