Cool idea on the line splice!! (Never thought of that)
One little trick here: Use about 3 quarts of TYPE-F to make the shifts
firmer. This is an old trick that is an undocumented fact with the older
Chrysler 727's and 904's...and can be used in the newer transmissions as
well. The "F" in Type-F stands for Friction Modifier (and is the same stuff
as the B&M Trick Shift Fluid) and was used by Ford because they used to
build some pretty crappy transmissions way back when and added this modifier
to get the clutches a little bit "stickier". In the old shop(s) that I used
to work in, we always added 2 - 3 quarts of Type-F to the Chrysler and GM
transmissions without any problems and they shifted exceptionally
well...even without a shift kit (but the shift kits always helped though).
My old Boss was also the former president of Mopar Alley (early 90's) and
had an article published in one of the old publications that proved
this...with an excerpt from Chrysler direct.

ok bubba here goes...
the best and easiest way to change atf is to cut your trans cooler line
going
back into the trans..add a hose barb...now whe you want to change or remove
some atf from the system just open the line up and let the fluid run into a
bucket...now whenever u guys want to really get the most performance out of
your automatic trans...buy some of my auto trans additive...its a mix of 3
different products...i gaurantee 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile improvement..and a
drop of at least 20 degrees in coolant temp with the addition of this
additive...when you want the most out of your truck order this fluid from
me...its only $25 plus shipping ...i gaurantee it works....

Alrighty... Quick Question for you guru's. Yesterday during a routine check
of my fluids I noticed when someone had replaced his transmission filter,
he may have inadvertantly added too much ATF. So the question is does
anyone know a cheap easy way to get some of that fluid out? Thanks.
Bubba
P.S.
Ok... If you want to comment to the guy for a good job on changing the
filter without a torque wrench and no leaks... it was me... However if you
want to yell at how stupid could someone be to add too much ATF... it was
my friend who did it...
